Gary Jessop

Counsellor, Therapist

After taking a sabbatical from his high-pressure job in the financial markets to circumnavigate the world as a member of an ocean racing sailing team, Gary decided to leave behind the high-risk high-reward working environment. He made the leap and into a new career and retrained to become a psychodynamic therapeutic counsellor and hypnotherapist.

Now he takes his insight from the demands of working in London, Asia and across the Far East, and the emotional highs and lows which accompany the stresses of sailing across oceans to help others, particularly in the fields of loss, bereavement and stress management. He also understands that sometimes we don’t know why we feel the way we do and where to start can be tough, however with his empathy and understanding he goes at the clients pace.

Gary leans on his own experiences to support clients as well as his studies and continuing professional development. He believes in the power of human contact, talking and trying new experiences experiences and his new thing – which he’s just started and is very much enjoying – is yoga.
